The first book of 'The Way to Russia' series covers an introduction to the Russian language for adult learners and is designed to cover the A1 level of the Common European Framework. It covers about 100-120 hours of lesson time.
There is a good balance of grammar and vocabulary and the book can be used both in the classroom and as part of independent study. However, all of the tasks are introduced in Russian and therefore working alongside a teacher, at least to begin with, may make the first steps in your discovery of the Russian language a little easier.
