The textbook + workbook + CD «Russian in an Easy Way» were designed specially for people, who came to work and live in CIS countries and would like to learn Russian as a foreign language, because over 285 million people speak Russian throughout the CIS. This course is for beginners, who have a very busy life in the office, at work or at home, but want to learn Russian to use in conversations, such as:
- greeting people;
- introducing yourself;
- asking about a subject and the meaning of words;
- asking prices in a shop, market or restaurant;
- ordering food in a restaurant;
- asking time and determining a time of your meeting;
- pointing the way to your residence;
- expressing your intention to do something;
- expressing your impressions about different things around you;
- speaking by telephone.
The main purpose of this course is to develop colloquial Russian in basic conversations in order to feel comfortable without an interpreter or an English-Russian phrase book. Therefore grammar material and reading just serve as a background for learning the language. This course also includes knowledge about the Russian alphabet and basic reading skills.
The structure of the course is very flexible. You can learn lesson by lesson or find the lesson, which will reflect your needs in daily situations and help you to express what you want to explain. Each lesson can be study independently.
You can study «Russian in an Easy Way» by yourself, but the best way to do this is with your teacher, who will support you with active teaching, where lessons are designed as a dialogue between the teacher and the student.
The glossaries at the end of both books give you an easy reference list of all the words used
in each book.
This course «Russian in an Easy Way» is a result of experience of teaching languages in Western companies in CIS and has been used by students, employees of companies and their families. Russian language specialists, to help their practice in teaching Russian as a foreign language have also adopted the «Russian in an Easy Way».
I'd appreciate any comments and suggestions in improving next editions.
